24-hour Crisis Line: (209) 464-4524
Need parenting advice, questions on child abuse or prevention, or referrals to get assistance for your family? Our crisis line is available 24 hours a day, 365 days a year.

Fee: Free to residents of San Joaquin County.

Crisis/Respite Child Care
With the rising cost of child care and other stressors to the family, our state licensed child care facility acts as a safe haven for children whose families have reached a breaking point. Our state subsidized child care includes:
  • No cost or Low cost quality child care

  • Crisis and Respite care

  • Hot meals and snacks daily

  • Age-appropriate learning activities

  • Child care for working families, those furthering their education and job seeking. Please visit the Centralized Eligibility List for San Joaquin County (CEL) here.
Fee: Sliding fee scale based on gross monthly income and family size.

Parenting Classes
Approved by the Superior Court, our parenting classes provide help for parents who are seeking to improve their parenting skills.

Parent Education Includes:
  • Low-Cost courses for individuals and organizations

  • Free Superior Court mandated classes for families referred by Child Protective Services

  • Classes tailored to the age of your child

  • Tested Curriculum
Fee: Free to those referred by Child Protective Services

Parent Project
Finally, help for parents of strong-willed, at-risk teens. Free or low-cost classes and support groups for parents at the end of their rope. Our Parent Project classes and support groups help:
  • Stop Parent/Teen arguments

  • Prevent or stop drug or alcohol use

  • Prevent or stop gang involvement
Fee: $10 per class, $25 material fee (one-time)

Supervised Visits
When a family situation requires visits with one or both parents to be supervised, there are few locations and services to assist that parent in providing a warm, meaningful, and safe visit. Our supervised visits program provides an unbiased, child friendly venue for families to bond and strengthen.

Supervised visits include:
  • One-on-one supervision – Each family has its own monitor.

  • A child friendly environment with both indoor and outdoor activities.

  • A safe and welcoming environment for all members of the family.
Fee: $25.00 Hourly (2 hr Min)

Safe Exchange
A difficult divorce, a parent with border-line or abusive behaviors, or other circumstances may require parents to use a neutral location for exchanging custody of their children.

Our service provides:
  • A child-centered exchange point

  • Safe and unbiased environment for all members of the family
Fee: $20.00 per exchange Discounted pricing available

CASA - Court Appointed Special Advocates
The CASA Program endeavors to ensure that abused, neglected and abandoned children who have become dependents of the San Joaquin County Court will have a safe and permanent home. Through a network of trained advocates, CASA of San Joaquin County will work closely with the Court, Human Service Agency, the child’s legal counsel and community agencies to identify and protect the best interests of each child in the consideration of recommending permanent placement for the child.

Lottie Grunsky and Pittman School Readiness
Programs Our School Readiness Program provides services to families in the Lottie Grunsky and Pittman school area priority is also given to families with homeless status and is fully funded by First 5 of San Joaquin County

Our no cost services include:
  • Preschool for 3 and 4 year olds

  • Family Case Management

  • In-home visitation program

  • Kindergarten Camps
Fee: No cost to all families in the Grunsky or Pittman school area and homeless students.

D.R.A.C. Differential Response Assessment Case Management
Promoting safe and stable families, this program is part of a larger county-wide child welfare improvement plan.

Our Differential Response services include:
  • Assessment of family needs

  • Referrals to resources

  • Case Management
Fee: Free with referral from Child Protective Services

PCIT Parent Child Interactive Therapy
PCIT program works with parents and children together to improve the quality of parent-child relationship and teach parents the skills necessary to manage their child’s sever behavior problems. Best with children under 8 years old.

PCIT offers:
  • Relationship enhancing therapy

  • Coaching on effective child-management skills

  • Family and bond strengthening

  • Referrals to needed services
